Who we are
We are KBE Durian. We grow durian in Malaysia and deliver it in Kuala Lumpur. This policy covers kbedurian.com and shop.kbedurian.com.
What we collect
When you create an account: your email address and a password. Your password is stored scrambled — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who gets hold of our database.
When you place an order: your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and postcode, what you ordered, the amount, and any note you leave for us.
Automatically: our website uses cookies to remember what is in your basket and to keep you logged in. Our web host also keeps normal server logs, which include your IP address.
We do not ask for your identity card number, your date of birth, or anything we do not need to get durian to your door.
Why we need it
To pack and deliver your order, to send you a receipt and delivery updates, to let you log in and see your past orders, and to talk to you if something goes wrong with a delivery.
We do not sell your details to anyone, and we do not send marketing email.
Who else sees it
Google. Every order is copied into a Google Sheet, which is the list we work from when we pack on Saturday morning. It contains your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and what you ordered.
Our web host and email provider. The website runs on rented hosting, and order emails and password reset emails are sent through an email delivery service. Both handle your details only in order to run the website and deliver our email.
WhatsApp — only if you choose to. After you order, we show you a button that opens WhatsApp with your order already typed out. Nothing is sent until you press send yourself. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation sits in WhatsApp like any other chat.
Cookies
We use cookies for the basket, for logging in, and for keeping the site fast. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for our own accounts and in case a delivery is disputed later. Your account stays until you ask us to close it.
Your rights
Under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to stop using it.
You can see and change your own address and contact details any time from your account page. For anything else, message us on WhatsApp at +60 17-310 8857 and tell us what you would like us to do.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your details, we will update this page.
